An approach to modeling the operating modes of technological systems and equipment of nuclear power plants is proposed, based on the representation of elements of complex geometry/equipment in the form of a continuous porous medium. The approach is based on the application of the Darcy porous body model. The hydraulic resistance of such elements is set by equivalent parameters. A specialized algorithm has been developed to implement the approach. Some results of testing this approach are presented using the example of modeling the operating modes of a regenerative heat exchanger of a steam generator purge and drainage system, as well as a cooling tower recharge system for power units No. 1, 2 of Novovoronezh NPP-2.
