We have studied the recent publications in area of simulation of heat convection in a porous cylindrical layer. The calculation methods of determining the permeability factors for fibrous thermal insulation materials are considered. Comparison of calculation and experimental data for power plants pipelines thermal insulation operating in a wide range of temperatures is given.
